PMID: 26392123.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Abstract:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We thank the correspondents [1] for their interest in the recent consensus statement on training and competing in the heat [2]. However, we were somewhat perplexed to note that the authors considered that the consensus statement \u201cdid not highlight one of the main current limitations: the recommendations for various sporting governing bodies (i.e., event organizers and international federations) are still based on the Wet-Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) index\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, one of the main recommendations in the consensus statement is that \u201cthe WBGT is an environmental heat stress index and not a representation of human heat strain.
