As a postdoctoral researcher in FAME Lab, Dr. Vliora designs and conducts advanced studies in thermophysiology, focusing on human adaptation to heat and the interaction of environmental factors on health and performance. She contributes to the development of experimental protocols, data analysis, scientific publications and project management while she also supports collaboration across international research initiatives, funding acquisition, and mentoring of young researchers.

Dr. Konstantinos Mantzios is an environmental physiologist and software developer specializing in human-computer interaction, big data, and machine learning. Ηe develops innovative technologies, with a current focus on heat stress management and enhancing human well-being through advanced, data-driven solutions. 

Dr Petros Dinas is a researcher in the field of physiology, specializing in systematic literature reviews and the study of brown adipose tissue. His research focuses on investigating the role of brown adipose tissue in human physiology. At the same time, he contributes to the development of innovative methodological approaches for the critical evaluation of scientific literature and the production of high-quality scientific conclusions.

Vivi Gkiata is a PhD candidate at FAME Lab. Her research focuses on the effects of heat exposure on thermoregulation in clinical populations, particularly individuals with type 2 diabetes. She contributes to the group’s research projects and, as the laboratory manager, supports safety, training, and the coordination of research activities.  

Giorgos Gkikas is a PhD candidate at FAME Lab. His research focuses on developing and applying technological solutions to better understand and mitigate the effects of heat stress on human performance, health, and productivity.

Melitini Antonakaki is a research assistant at FAME Laboratory. Her research interests focus on the effects of environmental conditions on human health, especially in vulnerable groups and clinical populations. Her role in FAME Lab is to support the team’s research projects by contributing to data collection and analysis.  

Maria Papadaki is a research assistant at FAME Laboratory. Her research interests focus on understanding the physiological and metabolic responses of exercise in clinical populations.  Her role in FAME Lab is to support the team’s research projects by contributing to data collection and analysis.  

Angeliki Chalvantzi is a research assistant at FAME Laboratory. Her research focuses on studying how the human body adapts to different environmental conditions, as well as the effect of nutrition on sweating and thermoregulation during exercise. Her role in FAME Lab is to support the team’s research projects by contributing to data collection and analysis.  

Georgia Ntina is the Head of Finance & Administration at FAME lab. She is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and administering the financial records, systems and processes of the lab.
